PURPOSE:To obtain a binder suitable for a reinforcing glass fiber for an AS resin and an ABS resin by incorporating a specific condensate obtd. from a (meth)acrylic copolymer and an epoxy resin, a specific acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer, and a silane coupling agent into the compsn. CONSTITUTION:A binder for a reinforcing glass fiber for an AS resin and an ABS resin is obtd. by incorporating 1-10wt.% condensate obtd. from 10-70wt.% (meth)acrylic copolymer having hydroxyl and carboxyl groups and 30-90wt.% epoxy resin, 1-10wt.% acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer having an acrylonitrile content of 10-50wt.%, and 0.1-5wt.% silane coupling agent into the binder. The (meth)acrylic copolymer pref. has a hydroxyl value of 100 or higher and an acid value of 20 or higher. The epoxy resin is one obtd. from a bisphenol and epichlorohydrin and having an epoxy equivalent of 450g or higher. The binder in an amt. of 0.2-3wt.% is applied in the form of an aq. soln., etc., to a glass fiber to give a reinforcing glass fiber.
