PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a therapeutic agent and a preventive agent for keloid or hypertrophic scar. The above problems are solved by a therapeutic agent and a preventive agent for keloids or hypertrophic scars containing trehalose as an active ingredient. In addition, the present invention is a prophylactic agent for the above-mentioned keloid or hypertrophic scar, and can be preferably used as an agent to be administered to the treatment site after the treatment. As demonstrated by the examples, the present invention can effectively treat and prevent keloids or hypertrophic scars by containing trehalose as an active ingredient. [Selection] Figure 1
