Disclosed is a tumor marker having high sensitivity and high specificity. The tumor marker comprises at least one substance selected from a human sideroflexin, an anti-human sideroflexin antibody, a human sideroflexin gene and mRNA for the gene. The human sideroflexin is preferably sideroflexin-3. The antibody is preferably an autoantibody contained in the serum. For example, an autoantibody contained in the serum of a subject may be determined by ELISA using recombinant sideroflexin-3 as an antigen, whereby cancer can be detected with high sensitivity and high specificity as shown in the graph of Fig. 1.
