The invention relates to a biodegradable soundproofing material intended to be used in soundproofing panels to control the noise generated by road traffic. According to the invention, the material consists of two layers, the first layer having a thickness of 6 mm and a density of 0.1261 g/cmand being made of 55% coconut fibres impregnated with 7% latex while the second layer has a thickness of 4 mm and a density of 0.1529 g/cmand is made of 35% hemp fibres, resulting in a total thickness of 10 mm and a density of 0.1395 g/cm.
