The invention relates to a system for digital radiography on two orthogonal directions, with applicability in the field of non-destructive control of metal pieces in production lines, as well as in the security field, for scanning luggage or other objects with a view to identifying hazardous materials therein. According to the invention, the system comprises an X-ray source () which is so positioned that it emits X rays at an angle of 45° in respect of a belt () conveying the objects to be investigated, a collimator () fixed above the source () having two slots () intended to separate the radiation cone emitted by the said source () into two beams of rays forming an angle of 90° therebetween, above the said collimator there being the conveying belt () driven by a motor (), the belt motion being synchronized with the data acquisition from some linear detectors (), each of them being positioned on an axle () for linear motion in the plane of the radiation field, and connected to each other by a connection axle (), where the position of the said detectors can be changed by moving the connection axle () using a second driving motor ().
