METHOD FOR TREATING CHRONIC HEPATITIS C IN SETTING OF INSULIN RESISTANCE

The method for treating the chronic hepatitis C in the setting of insulin resistance comprises the medicamentous correction of insulin resistance. Metformin is provided at a dose of 20 mg per of body mass prior to or after the meals at least in 6-3 months preceding antiviral therapy and throughout the whole course of antiviral therapy. For adult patients, the initial dose of Metformin is 500-850 mg once a day. In 10-15 days since the beginning of the therapy, the dose is adjusted with increment of 500 mg once a week.
