METHOD FOR DETERMINING OF MICROBIAL CONTAMINATION OF AVIATION FUELS

Method for determining of microbial contamination of aviation fuels consists of proper sampling, i.e. sampling from sites and parts of the system where the concentration of microbes is the greatest. A sample is evaporated on a slide (settling-vat water or aqueous extract), then 1-2 drops of a solution of ninhydrin (S9N6O4) are added to precipitate which was not evaporated from the slide, then a sample is covered with a glass and is heated, heating is performed until the appearance of the purple color in case of the presence of microorganisms, but not more than for 30 seconds.
