Process for the preparation of a monoclonal antibody with specificity for protein family of the laminins and the laminin fragment P1 which can be prepared from human placenta by pepsin digestion, wherein the monoclonal antibody binds to laminin fragment P1 and laminin native, intact, with approximately the same affinity, an antibody that is produced by the hybridoma cell line DSM ACC2181, DSM ACC2180 or DSM ACC2182, characterized in being excluded because a) non-human vertebrate animals, are immunized with the fragment laminin P1, which can be prepared from human placenta by pepsin digestion, b) cells of vertebrate immunized and fused with myeloma cells, c) hybrids are selected animals are obtained in the presence of the antibody having the aforesaid properties and d) are cloned from these clones the antibody, the antibody binds is obtained s native folded structures of domains of laminin P1 laminin and wherein the method is characterized in that the antibody by a hybridoma which is by fusion of cells from a myeloma cell line and lymphocytes from a non-human vertebrate animal so immunized with laminin P1 fragment of human placenta and then selected and in that the formed antibody shows a binding property to human laminin and purified high molecular weight form of the laminin obtained from human serum.
