A cover or boot for use in conjunctionwith the nail advancement mechanism ofa fastener-driving tool is disclosed. The cover orboot covers external surface portions of the nailadvancement mechanism of the fastener-drivingtool so as to prevent a significant accumulation ofdust particles from effectively collecting upon andentering the piston-cylinder assembly of the nailadvancement mechanism and thereby operativelyinterfering with the reciprocal movements of thepiston of the piston-cylinder assembly of the nailadvancement mechanism whereby the operativefunctioning of the nail advancement mechanismof the fastener-driving tool would otherwise beadversely affected.
