The presented process is based on injecting hydrogen peroxide and hydrogenintohydrocarbon reservoir to provide in-situ heat by decomposition of hydrogenperoxide inhydrogen rich environment resulting also in hydrogen-oxidation reaction.Furthermore,the in-situ heat generated from the above exothermic reactions is used tolocally raisethe hydrocarbon reservoir temperature to the level required for hydrogenationreactionsin which the heavy hydrocarbons will react with hydrogen and change intolighterhydrocarbons with less viscosity and higher qualities. Besides upgradedhydrocarbons,the only byproduct of this process is water which makes the process veryenvironmentally safe. Other benefits of this process are; no water consumptionandcontamination, no CO2 emission, higher production rate, and high ultimaterecoveryfrom the reservoir.
