摘要

The presented process is based on injecting hydrogen peroxide and hydrogenintohydrocarbon reservoir to provide in-situ heat by decomposition of hydrogenperoxide inhydrogen rich environment resulting also in hydrogen-oxidation reaction.Furthermore, thein-situ heat generated from the above exothermic reactions is used to locallyraise thehydrocarbon reservoir temperature to the level required for hydrogenationreactions in whichthe heavy hydrocarbons will react with hydrogen and change into lighterhydrocarbons withless viscosity and higher qualities. Besides upgraded hydrocarbons, the onlybyproduct ofthis process is water which makes the process very environmentally safe. Otherbenefits ofthis process are; no water consumption and contamination, no CO2 emission,higherproduction rate, and high ultimate recovery from the reservoir.
