METHOD OF UPGRADING AND RECOVERING A HYDROCARBON RESOURCE FOR PIPELINE TRANSPORT AND RELATED SYSTEM

A method for recovering a hydrocarbon resource froma subterranean formation may include applying radio frequency(RF) power to the hydrocarbon resource in the subterraneanformation to upgrade the hydrocarbon resource to have alowered viscosity. The method may further include producingthe upgraded hydrocarbon resource from the subterraneanformation to a wellhead, and, at the wellhead, adding adiluent to the upgraded hydrocarbon resource sufficient tomeet a pipeline transport viscosity threshold. The method mayalso include supplying the diluted upgraded hydrocarbonresource to a pipeline for transportation therethrough.
