The invention relates to a method for communicating on the basis of an ad hoc-type motor vehicle communication system, in particular a wireless motor vehicle communication system, wherein transport users communicate with one another and/or transport users and the transport infrastructure communicate, in which method the valid directions of travel are independently determined on the basis of messages transmitted by transport users and travelling in the wrong direction is also determined on the basis of these messages, with the result that, as a response, corresponding further messages can be transmitted in response to the hazardous situation. The invention also relates to a transport infrastructure device and to a transport user device which make it possible to implement the method according to the invention.
