Provided are a silicon alloy phosphor series, a production method therefor, a light-emitting device using the silicon alloy phosphor series, and a translucent material for the device. The silicon alloy phosphor series comprises a plurality of silicon alloy phosphors that: are made into a powder subsequent to being obtained by a pressure- and temperature-controlled combustion synthesis process; contain, by weight, 30-70% of silicon, 10-45% of nitrogen, 1-40% of aluminum, and 1-40% of oxygen; and comprise one or two types of SiAlON crystals. The series includes silicon alloy phosphors that have an activator added thereto, the activator acting as the luminescence center of the phosphor, and also includes silicon alloy phosphors to which the activator is not added. The incidence of light from an excitation source causes the plurality of silicon alloy phosphors to emit fluorescence having peak wavelengths in the respective purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red visible spectrums. The provided series emits light of an arbitrary colour by the combination of the excitation source and the phosphors. Thus, white LED lighting devices exhibiting high color rendering, and light-emitting devices that emit light of an arbitrary colour can be achieved.
