The present invention relates to the technical field of video monitoring technologies, and provides a method, device and system for a monitoring system selecting a camera to implement real-time viewing. The method comprises: acquiring, by using a GIS map, a GIS coordinate of a selected point selected by a user on a GIS interface, or a GIS coordinate of a warning device sending a warning signal; and through the interaction between the GIS map and a monitoring management platform, notifying the monitoring management platform of the GIS coordinate information, so that the monitoring management platform calculates a coordinate of a camera around the selected point or around the warning device according to the GIS coordinate, and then views the camera around the selected point or around the warning device in real time.
