[Problem] To provide an electric device identification system capable of easily and highly accurately monitoring an operation state of an electric device without requiring a cumbersome user operation of setting and registering a device to be measured.[Solution] An electric device identification system (1) for identifying a plurality of electric devices (400) connected to an AC power supply (110) from one another and monitoring operation states is equipped with an identification adapter (300) and an electric device identification device (200). The identification adapter (300) generates identification waves with a magnitude proportional to the current consumed by the electric device (400) connected thereto, assigns the generated identification waves to a plurality of zones set discretely at constant time intervals from a zero crossing point of an AC current waveform, and superimposes the identification waves onto the current supplied from the AC power supply (110). The electric device identification device (200) obtains the current waveform of the AC power supply (110), extracts feature vectors in periods corresponding to the zones, and compares the feature vectors with the feature vectors of the identification waves in the respective zones, thereby identifying the electric devices (400) from one another.
