摘要

Directions of research for new ferroelectrics and antiferro electrics are outlined. These include some crystal-chemical criteria and their application;reports of some old and some new crystal transitions;likely materials to be examined;some useful experimental techniques;and reasons why the search for new ferroelectrics must continue. Some other interesting' dielectrics are discussed.
