The present invention relates to a method whereby a duplex controller outputs a control signal and a duplex controller therefor, the method comprising checking the state region of power and the operating state of a duplex controller and controlling in a manner that a normal control signal is outputted to a grid-connected system, when turning on/off the power of the controller for controlling the control of the system, so as to inhibit the occurrence of an abnormal signal in the off region and excess region of the power and prevent the malfunction of the system. To this end, the method whereby a duplex controller for controlling a grid-connected system outputs a control signal, according to the present invention, comprises the steps of: outputting a control signal by a first controller and operating the system; monitoring the state region of power which is applied to a second controller when turning on the power of the second controller; monitoring the operating state of the second controller; and outputting a predetermined control signal to the system if it is determined that the state region of the applied power of the second controller is a normal region and the operating state is normal.
