Method and system for characterising the speed variation or clotting of particles in a liquid, such as blood particles

This method is suitable for characterising a variation in the speed of particles or an agglomeration of particles, said particles, such as blood particles, being contained in a liquid (12). The characterisation method comprises the following steps: - introducing the liquid (12) into a fluid chamber (14); - illuminating the fluid chamber (14) via an excitation light beam (18) emitted by a light source (16), the light beam (18) extending through the fluid chamber (14) in a longitudinal direction (X); - the acquiring of at least one image by a matrix photodetector (20), the image being formed by a ray transmitted by the illuminated fluid chamber (14); and - calculating, based on at least one acquired image, at least one indicator characterising the variation in the speed of the particles or agglomeration of particles. During the acquisition step, the photodetector (20) is arranged at a distance (D2) less than 1 cm from the fluid chamber (14) in the longitudinal direction (X).
