The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a method for separating, with good precision, CNT having optical activity with a single (n, m); and optically active carbon nanotubes obtained thereby. A plurality of gel-packed columns are connected in series, an excess amount of carbon nanotube dispersion is passed through the columns, carbon nanotubes having specific optical activity are adsorbed in each column, and carbon nanotubes having optical activity and a specific structure are separated out with precision by elution by respective eluents.
