Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for determining paired users, a user equipment, a base station, and a joint detection method, which relates to the field of communications. The method for determining paired users comprises: (301) a user equipment obtaining first indication information from downlink control information (DCI), the first indication information being used for indicating whether paired users exist; and (302) the user equipment determining, according to the first indication information, whether the paired users exist. The method comprises: a base station determining whether paired users of a user equipment exists; generating DCI according to the determining result, the DCI carrying first indication information, and sending the DIC to the user equipment, so that the user equipment determines whether the paired users of the base station exist. The method comprises: determining, according to first indication information, whether paired users exist; when the paired users exist, obtaining an own antenna port and antenna ports of all paired users; performing channel estimation on the antenna ports; estimating a minimum mean square error of channel estimation values of the antenna ports. By means of the present invention, it can be easily and conveniently determine whether paired users exist.
