Provided is a method for producing microparticles, the method being characterized in being provided with a step for producing a source emulsion (13) that is a water-in-oil emulsion obtained by dispersing a source solution containing lithium ions and source metal ions other than those of lithium and silicon as droplets in a flammable liquid that contains an organosilicon compound, a step for spraying this source emulsion in the form of droplets, and a step for forming microparticles (27) by combusting the flammable liquid in the droplets (21). The source emulsion (13) may contain a surfactant.
