The present invention relates to a method for removing copper ions, wherein the method includes: a step (a) of selectively absorbing and removing the copper ions from a mixed solution, which contains the copper ions and at least one or two metal ions selected from nickel ions, cobalt ions, and iron ions, using an ion exchange resin which is a chelate resin having an iminodiacetic acid functional group; and a step (b) of recovering copper by detaching the copper from the ion exchange resin in which the copper ions are absorbed. The present invention also relates to the copper which is detached and recovered from the ion exchange resin, which the copper ions are absorbed in, by the method using an eluent containing 2 to 12 vol% of sulfuric acid.
