The present invention relates to a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) marker related to carcass weight and eye muscle area of Hanwoo (Korean beef), and more specifically, to an SNP marker related to carcass weight and eye muscle area in FAS gene existing in quantitative trait loci for early determining and selecting premium Hanwoo for improving meat quantity. According to the present invention, the SNP of FAS gene is used for translating carcass weight and eye muscle area of Hanwoo at a molecular biological level and is used as a selectable genetic marker for improving meat quantity of Hanwoo by providing profiles on genes and proteins related to meat quantity of Hanwoo.
