The present invention relates to a simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) system of a movable robot and a method thereof. The SLAM system of the movable robot according to the present invention includes a user terminal which receives information or commands related to an environment from a user and transmits the same to the movable robot; and the movable robot which forms a map based on the information and commands received from the user terminal and the information of an ambient environment and movement information obtained by a data acquisition device.
