The present invention relates to a novel use of the extract of angelica roots and, more specifically, to a composition for preventing and treating prostate cancer, containing the extract of angelica roots as an active ingredient and a functional food product for preventing prostate cancer, which includes organic solvent extracts of angelica roots containing food additives sitologically acceptable food additives, as an active ingredient. The composition and the functional food product for preventing and treating prostate cancer suppress the growth of prostate cancer cells and induce apoptosis, thereby being used for preventing and treating prostate cancer.
