A foreign substance detection device using terahertz metamaterials according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises terahertz metamaterials reacting in a terahertz frequency region; a terahertz wave generating unit which generates a terahertz frequency and emits the terahertz frequency to the terahertz metamaterials; an extraction unit which extracts a resonant frequency by analyzing the terahertz wave passing through the terahertz metamaterials; and a determination unit which determines that there are foreign substances in the terahertz metamaterials when the extracted resonant frequency is different from a reference resonant frequency.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2014
