SHIP-BUILDING METHOD FOR SEMI-SUBMERSIBLE DRILLING RIG USING THE SMALL DOCK

The present invention relates to a method for building a semi-submersible drilling rig and, more specifically, to a method for building a semi-submersible drilling rig in dry docks. The method for building a semi-submersible drilling rig comprises a step of building the semi-submersible drilling rig by using first and second docks at the same time, wherein the docks are contiguous with each other, are arranged to be parallel to each other, and have the semi-submersible drilling rig alternately built therein since each dock has multiple pontoons arranged therein. The method is provided to increase the turnover and utility of the docks since the semi-submersible drilling rig is built by using two small docks which are incapable of independently building the drilling rig, thereby increasing productivity for building the drilling rig.
