The present invention relates to a Cudrania tricuspidata leaf extract with an inhibitory effect on PTP1B, and a production method thereof. A PTP1B inhibitory composition of the present invention containing the Cudrania tricuspidata leaf extract as an effective component can be usefully applied as a prevention and treatment agent for metabolic diseases by having PTP1B inhibitory activity. The composition of the present invention is suitable for oral administration for improving the bio-availability when the composition is used as the prevention and treatment agent for metabolic diseases by having PTP1B inhibitory activity.
