The present invention relates to a patterning method of substrates for solar cells using static roll-to-roll process. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the patterning method of solar cells using static roll-to-roll process comprises the following steps: forming a solar cell functional layer on a substrate after transferring a substrate for solar cells to a formation section from a transfer roll; forming patterns by scribing the solar cell functional layer formed on the substrate after transferring the substrate on which the solar cell functional layer is formed to the pattern formation section; and winding the substrate on which the patterns are formed by using a winding roll. When the solar cell functional layer is formed, the substrate successively passes the solar cell functional layer formation section, and the formation of the patterns is processed while the transfer of the substrate in the pattern formation section is stopped. The substrate passing the solar cell functional layer formation section and pattern formation section is roofed. By using the method, the accuracy of patterning solar cells can be improved, thereby improving the yield when products are produced, so that the reliability of operating solar cells can be improved.
