The present invention relates to an osmotic pressure agent for a peritoneal dialysis liquid including starch sulfate and a composition for peritoneal dialysis including the same. More specifically, the osmotic pressure agent for a peritoneal dialysis liquid includes starch sulfate whereby the overall or partial hydrogen of hydroxyl groups in a glucose ring is substituted by sulfate groups. The starch sulfate has high molecular weight so that a small quantity thereof is absorbed in the peritoneum. Accordingly, osmosis concentration is maintained at a specific level for a long time so that ultra filtration is caused. Moreover, the starch sulfate is rarely cytotoxic and minimizes the production of glucose degradation products (GDPs) so as to decrease the side effects caused by the peritoneal dialysis liquid. Accordingly, the starch sulfate can be used for the peritoneal dialysis liquid by replacing icodextrin.
