A method of controlling the operating point of a gas turbine containing a compressor, a combustion chamber and at least a turbine, comprising: determining a turbine exhaust gas pressure at a turbine outlet; measuring a compressor outlet pressure; determining a turbine pressure coefficient based on a turbine exhaust gas pressure and a compressor output; calculating the temperature of the exhaust gas at the output of the turbine as a function of the pressure coefficient of the turbine; determining the reference curve of the temperature of the exhaust gas in a plane defined by eraturoy exhaust gas turbine pressure ratio, the reference exhaust gas temperature curve contains points that are optimal for the gas turbine, and controlling a gas turbine to keep the operating point on the reference exhaust temperature curve gaza.2.
