The system (1) has base frame (3) clamping a plane and fastened at a roof (4). Solar modules (2) comprise form closure profiles. The base frame is designed such that the base frame removes water and infiltrates directly laterally apart from the solar modules and between the solar modules. The solar modules are provided with a glass pane that is made of high-strength glasses and defines an edge of the solar modules. The form closure profiles are formed directly close to the edge on a lower side of the glass pane and laterally do not protrude over the edge. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a roof system.
