The cleaning method involves supplying the carrier gas to a jet nozzle (1), which has a section (7) converging to a narrow portion (6) and a diverging section (8) connected with the former section. The water or other liquid substance is fed into the carrier gas flow in or after the narrow portion of the jet nozzle, particularly in front of the jet nozzle. The water or other liquid substance is supplied with a pressure. The mixture of carrier gas and water or another liquid substance is accelerated into the jet nozzle at high speed. An independent claim is included for a device for cleaning the surfaces of solar- and photovoltaic elements.
