Method for hiding irrelevant object during detecting obstructions in surrounding region laterally adjacent to passenger car, involves evaluating current steering angle of motor car, and detecting and hiding wheels as irrelevant object
The method involves actuating ultrasonic sensors (3, 6) by a control device (14), which evaluates receipt echoes received from the ultrasonic sensors and detects obstructions based on the evaluation of the receipt echoes. A current steering angle of a motor car (1) is evaluated by the control device. The receipt echoes of the sensors are interpreted with respect to wheels (16, 17) of the motor car when the current steering angle lies within a predetermined value range. The wheels are detected and hidden as irrelevant objects. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a driver assistance device for a motor car (2) a motor car.
