The large capacity feeder (1) has a housing comprising two side walls (3,4), rear wall (5), front opening (6) and cyclically propelled flake bottom (7). The movable discharging device (8) arranged at the front opening of housing, is displaced or pivoted towards the direction of bulk material embankment (12) and is again moved away from embankment, to discharge the bulk material (2) from feeder by performing cyclically propelled drive of the flake bottom.
