The head (1) has a burner plate (2) comprising a burner upper surface (7) and a lower side (6). Outlet openings (3, 4, 5) for fuel-air-mixture are formed in the burner plate. Rods (13, 14) are arranged at the lower side of the burner plate and provided for dividing the burner plate into a middle area (17) and two edge areas (15, 16). The rods run parallel to a longitudinal direction of the burner plate, where a surface of the middle area is larger than sum of surfaces of the edge areas. The outlet openings are designed as slots that run transverse to the longitudinal direction.
