Method for operating vehicle e.g. passenger car, involves calculating position of object, and determining instantaneous detection area of sensor based on determined position of object when object is not detected by sensor
The method involves receiving position data of an object (4) by a receiving device of a vehicle (1), and calculating a position of the object based on the received position data. A determination is made whether the calculated position data is within a predetermined detection region (3) of a sensor (2), and a parameter of roadway geometry is determined. An instantaneous detection area (9) of the sensor is determined based on the determined position of the object when the object is not detected by the sensor. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a vehicle (2) a computer program product for operating a vehicle (3) a machine readable medium storing a program for operating a vehicle.
