The joint has prefixing units (7) for pre-assembly of the joint at an exhaust gas sleeve pipe. A partial ring (1) includes large diameter in a resulting prefixing state, and fixing agents (8) are produced in a fixing state in an axial region between two intervention units. An axial safety device (25) radially engages behind a sleeve of the exhaust gas sleeve pipe on one of seal retainer axial sides, where one of the sides is turned away from the other axial side to secure the pipe joint in the prefixing state axial at the sleeve of the exhaust gas sleeve pipe. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an exhaust tube system with a pipe joint.
