The device (10) has a resetting unit (14) for resetting of a selector lever (12) of automatic transmission from drive resetting positions (R, D) into a parking lock position (P). The resetting unit resets the selector lever from the drive resetting positions into the parking lock position by receiving the selector lever from a rest path (21) in another resting path. An actuating unit actuates the resetting unit. The resetting device comprises a hub disk, a plunger and a resetting lever (18), where the hub disk converts rotational movement into hub movement. An independent claim is also included for a method for resetting a selector lever of automatic transmission of a motor car.
