Producing a cooking hob, aperture, equipment housing, a damper or oven plate, comprises providing a substrate, applying a sol-gel layer, imprinting a phase hologram in the sol-gel layer, and curing the sol-gel layer. Independent claims are also included for: (1) the cooking hob, aperture, equipment housing, damper (2) or oven plate, which is produced by the above mentioned method; and (2) using at least partially transparent substrate, on which a hologram is applied, as cooking hob, aperture, equipment housing, damper or oven plate, which is subjected to a temperature of more than 300[deg] C.
