The honing tool (10) is tubular in shape and is received at its one end by a clamping device of a honing machine. The honing tool comprises a honing sleeve (11) provided with a slot and an abradant coating (12). The honing sleeve is expandable by inserting a shaft (13) in the honing tool. The honing sleeve is fixable in axial direction of the honing tool by an insert (15), which is insertable into a corresponding molded recess (17) provided in the honing sleeve and in the honing tool section (16).
