The light source device (1) has a light source cover (3) whose specific side portion is clouded, melted and partially removed, so that predetermined target light intensity and/or target radiation level are adjusted. The light source cover is made of glass or plastics. The clouding, melting and removal process of light source cover is carried out through the use of a laser, by performing laser etching process, plasma etching process or milling process. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a method for changing light transmittance of light source cover of light source device; and (2) a device for changing light transmittance of light source cover of light source device.
