The method involves determining different volume divisions of volume of human body, where volume division divides the volume into a set of volume segments. A set of equations is determined for each division, where action potentials (Vr) measured at monopolar electrodes (2) for a predetermined measuring time are modeled as sum of terms. The set of equations is solved such that values for segment action potentials and values for the action potentials of each volume segment are obtained. The values of the action potentials of the volume segments are averaged, and mean values are outputted. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for computer-aided processing of action potentials (2) a computer program product with a program code for executing a method for computer-aided processing of action potentials (3) a computer program with a program code for executing a method for computer-aided processing of action potentials.
