The method involves determining start angles of a cylinder (101) according to turning operation for compaction of the start angles, where the turning operation is performed by using an electrical initiator. Suction tube fuel injection is performed into the cylinder for first clock rate according to turning when the start angles exceed start angle threshold value. No injection is performed when the start angles do not exceed the start angle threshold value, where the start angle threshold value is to 80 degree kilowatt. The start angle threshold value is provided as a function of whether ignition and/or incineration is reached in the first clock, as function of combustion engine parameter e.g. engine temperature, cooling water temperature and suction tube pressure, as a function of environment boundary condition i.e. ambient temperature and ambient pressure. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computing unit (2) a computer program including a set of instructions to perform a method for starting a combustion engine (3) a machine-readable memory medium including a set of instructions to perform a method for starting a combustion engine.
