Method for manufacturing lightweight rail vehicle, involves connecting light metal layer applied on to-be-joined ferrous portion, with iron-containing metal layer deposited on light metal joining portion by thermal joining process
The method involves applying light metal layer on a surface of a to-be-joined ferrous portion at preset location. An iron-containing metal layer is deposited on the surface of a light metal joining portion at preset location. The deposited light metal layer and iron-containing metal layer are connected by thermal joining process. The to-be-joined ferrous portion is provided with iron-carbon alloy having high mass fraction and less carbon content which is less than or equal to 2% by weight. The density of light metal compounds in light metal layer is less than or equal to 5g/cm3. An independent claim is included for lightweight rail vehicle.
