Method for determining lubricity of lubricant of roller bearing, involves moving two bearing elements relative to each other, simultaneously suspending vibration, measuring temperature of bearing element and determining friction factor
The method involves moving a bearing element (10) relative to another bearing element (12) lubricated with a lubricant, such that both bearing elements exert force on each other. A vibration is suspended simultaneous to the movement of the former bearing element, which is generated by a vibration generating unit (14). The temperature of one of the bearing elements is directly or indirectly measured and a friction factor is determined after a predetermined time period, during which the movement takes place. The friction factor specifies a frictional relative movement between the bearing elements, and the relative movement takes place while lubricating with the lubricant. An independent claim is included for a device for determining quality, particularly lubricity of a lubricant of a roller bearing under vibrational application in wind turbine gearboxes.
