The machine (1) has milk froth nozzle (3) arranged in a distance to a coffee delivery device (2). A step-like cup positioning surface (4) includes an upper step (5) below the coffee delivery device, and a lower step (6) below the milk froth nozzle. The coffee delivery device is passed into a region of the milk froth nozzle. An auxiliary element (8) provides the cup positioning surface in a height range between the lower step and the upper step, and approximately on a height level of the upper step. The auxiliary element is movably arranged at the upper step. An independent claim is also included for an auxiliary element.
