The safety belt device has fastenable belt winder (2), safety belt (1) and seat harness release (6) into which belt tongue (5) is inserted. The safety belt is subdivided by belt tongue into diagonal belt portion (14) and lap belt portion (9). The diagonal belt portion is inflatably formed. The belt winder is arranged at the free end of the lap belt portion. The free end of the diagonal belt portion over a limited extension of the diagonal belt portion is fastenable to comfort device at the motor car.
