The system has a seat belt retractor (2) comprising a frame that is provided with a back portion (3) and two side flanges (4). A belt reel (5) is rotatably supported in the frame for retaining a webbing (6). A mounting hole is formed in the frame, so that the frame is attached at a base (1) i.e. rear shelf, through the mounting hole. The back portion is diagonally extended away from the frame to the base, and supports the side flanges at the base. The webbing is removed from the belt reel between the back portion and a rotational axis (D) of the belt reel.
